The Sweetest Baby Shower
Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of throwing an amazing baby shower for one of my best friend's, Alexis. She lives in Houston which is about a 5 hour drive from Dallas. We try to get together at least twice a year, whether it's vacationing in Mexico or simply hanging out at each other's home (our favorite), we always seem to make it work. I love my sista, and am so happy for her and her hubby for their next big milestone.
My job was taking care of decorations and the desserts! I was so proud of how it turned out, and it was so much fun! However, I couldn't do it without the help of the other 2 girl's hosting, her sister and a mutual dear friend of ours. The soon-to-be-dad also helped out by picking up all 55 filled balloons! He was a trooper and was able to fit them all in one trip within the SUV. The best unexpected help was that of my mom, she was a busy little worker bee with me all weekend. I know she loves hanging out with me and going on trips, but also helping me with all the details and setup, was just so sweet. I even got to hangout with my in-laws as sleeping arrangement plans had to be changed last minute and I asked my lovely in-laws to take in myself and my mom for the weekend, so we didn't have to scramble and find a hotel. It just so happens, they live very close to my bestie and welcomed us in their home for the weekend stay. So sweet! I love my family & friends.
Invites were purchased on Etsy shop: littlebirdieprints and printed at a local printer
Cake & cupcakes were made by my aunt's who run a little home bakery in Lake Jackson.
One of my favorite things to do for baby showers is stringing along onesies, and that beautiful print was from Lindsay Letters found at Hobby Lobby! I was so surprised to find her work there, but also very excited. The burlap banner was made by yours truly.
Can we talk about these amazing balloons! These large confetti balloons were used at the dessert table and another at the photo backdrop area, then there was this very large "M." I was so excited on how these turned out, but I was also very excited the girl's from OhShinyPaperCo were able to help me out as I decided on these a week before the shower! Yes, I know, I can be a procrastinator. They were able to help match up to the colors I was going for and it turned out PERFECT. If you need pretty balloons, I definitely recommend the sweet girls from OhShinyPaperCo. Thanks girls!
I was so excited to showcase my aunt's fabulous work. I have an aunt who's actually a pastry chef and another aunt who helps her out every weekend. They are constantly doing wedding cakes and birthday cakes and they love it. They even did MY wedding cake! So yummy and always so pretty. If you're looking for a baker in the Lake Jackson area, ping me and I'll get you their number. I am hoping their facebook page is up soon.
little birdies so cute!! I couldn't believe how detailed these were.
Strawberry Cupcakes with fresh strawberries on top, delish!
Favors included homemade cinnamon sugar cookies made by yours truly and chocolate chip cookies made by my mom on the day of.
Alexis, the lovely mom-to-be. She was so excited and told me I surpassed her expectations! Yay me! :)
I leave you with a small slide show for the highlights.
